Esther Alma Kapp, 83, Wishek, ND died Friday afternoon February 16, 2007 in the Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND.
Esther Alma Eslinger was born on August 18, 1923 in Fredonia, North Dakota to Emmanuel Eslinger and Hannah (Wolfe) Eslinger. She graduated from Kulm High School and later attended Ellendale Teacher's College. Esther taught school in rural Fredonia and Lehr for four years.
She married Ray Kapp August 12, 1945 in the Fredonia Congregational Church at Fredonia, ND and they were blessed with twin daughters and later with two other daughters. The family moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1950 where they lived for many years. Esther was a devoted wife and mother and was dearly loved by her family.
In 1956, Esther and Ray committed their lives to the Lord and attended Bible College. They became missionaries to Hanau, Germany where they ministered to many in the armed forces and others. They returned to the U.S. in 1963 and ministered in Brookings, South Dakota. They later pastored churches in Beaver Crossing and Seward, Nebraska and finally returned home to pastor Berlin Baptist Church in Fredonia for eight years until retirement.
Esther ministered to women in Bible Studies, teaching Sunday School and she especially loved to play the organ and piano. She delighted in praising the Lord and was known as the "hallelujah lady" at Berlin Baptist Church. She was always encouraging others with her warm smile and love.
She is survived by her husband, Ray, Kulm, ND, daughters, Cheryl and husband, Ramon Omana, Richmond, VA, Carole and husband, Brian Burgess, Denver, CO, Paulette Kapp, Aberdeen, NC, Joy and husband, David Thornton, Matthews, VA, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul Eslinger only five months ago.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday February 20, 2007 in the Fredonia Congregational Church in Fredonia, ND with Pastor Bernie Jaskens officiating, and Pastor Bob Wittstruck, assisting

The interment will be made in the Nazareth Congregational Cemetery North of Fredonia, ND.
Vistitation - 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Congregational Church in Fredonia
