Esther Diede, 92, Jamestown, ND died Monday night June 28, 2010 at the Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND.
Esther Deutscher was born December 9, 1917 at Streeter, ND, the daughter of Jacob Deutscher and Elizabeth (Link) Deutscher. She received her elementary education at the local rural school near Streeter and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.
She and Arnold Diede were married December 12, 1940 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home 5 miles on a farm NW of Gackle, ND. They lived there until retiring in 1976 when they moved into Jamestown. Following the death of her husband November 12, 1996 she continued to live in her home until May of 2010 when she entered the Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Gackle, ND and Jamestown. She was also a member of the Dorcas Society.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, making quilts and crocheting Afghans.
She is survived by 1 son, Ernie Diede, Jamestown, ND; 1 daughter, Darlene (Maynerd) Dockter, Medina, ND; 2 grandchildren; Paula (Dan) Rust, Plymouth, MN; Scott (Melissa) Dockter, Medina, ND; 4 great grandchildren, Quin Rust, Plymouth, MN; Austin, Ja Sondra and Ceph Dockter, all of Medina, ND, and 1 sister, Lorraine Schroeder, Lincoln, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter and son-in-law, LaVerne and Merle Branstad; 3 sisters, Frieda Schnabel; Lena Martin-Bender; Bertha Aipperspach; 2 brothers, Herbert Deutscher, and 1 brother in infancy.
The funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday July 2, 2010 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamestown with Pastor Bob Forbes, officiating.
The interment will be held at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, ND.
