Estella Hehn

Estella Hehn, 96, Jamestown, ND died early Thursday morning March 31, 2022 at her home in Jamestown, ND.

Estella Schroeder was born February 2, 1926 at Cleveland, ND the daughter of Fred F. Schroeder and Rosie (Hauff) Schroeder.  She received her elementary education in local school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

She and Ezra Hehn were married July 1, 1945 at the country church near Gackle.   They made their home on a farm 6 miles northeast of Gackle where they resided until 1994 when they retired and moved into Jamestown, ND.   Following Ezra’s death on February 19, 2006 she has continued to live in Jamestown.

She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Gackle, and later Jamestown, and was quite active having served as church secretary for 15 years, Sabbath School teacher for youth, 16 years and pianist for many years. She loved gardening, flowers, cooking and all kinds of crafts. She also stay busy by helping with farm harvesting and made over 200 quilts. Estella especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Estella is survived by her grandchildren, Chris (Laurie) Hehn; Vicky Lynn (Marlin) Krump; Chad Hehn; Kimberly; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; one brother, Duane (Linda) Schroeder; and special friend, Ernie Diede.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Victor, 3 brothers and 1 sister, Roy, Ben, Lloyd and Violet.
