Emma Miller, 97, Gackle, North Dakota died Monday afternoon May 30, 2005 at the Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown, ND.

Emma Zenker was born June 6, 1907 in Logan County, ND, the daughter of William Zenker Sr. and Fredricka (Klipfel) Zenker. She attended the local rural school, where she received her elementary education, and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she worked on the family farm.

She and Peter Miller Jr. were married December 18, 1928 in the Neudorf Lutheran Church southwest of Gackle, ND. They made their home on a farm one-half mile west of his parents' farm, where they resided until their retirement in 1968. In 1971 they moved to Gackle. Following the death of her husband on November 20, 1974, she stayed in Gackle. In March of 2002 she moved to the Gackle Care Center and August 27, 2004 moved into the Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center.

She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND

She enjoyed quilting, gardening, loved children and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Magdelina (LeRoy) Presler; Marvin (JoAnne) Miller; Janet (John) Henke; LorRaine (Ralph) Rivinius, all of Gackle, ND; Darlene (Duane) Trautman, Medina, ND; Hulda (Daniel) Peterson, Holdrege, NE; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Mathilda (Dave) Huliva, Elk Grove, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers and 5 sisters

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday June 2, 2005 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Russell Pollock, officiating.

The interment will be at the Gackle Cemetery in Gackle, ND
Prayer Service: 7:30 PM Wednesday at the Church in Gackle, ND.
