Emma Letcher, 97, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday morning November 13, 2013 at her home in Jamestown.
Emma was born January 18, 1916 at Streeter, ND. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Francis Letcher were married May 22, 1935 at Aberdeen, SD. They farmed NE of Gackle until 1964 when they moved into Jamestown. They operated an upholstery shop for about 20 years. Following the death of her husband October 5, 1986, she continued to live in Jamestown.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown.
She is survived by her children, Yvonne Wegner, Jamestown, ND; Earl Letcher, Jamestown, ND: Elroy (Lucille) Letcher, Helena, MT: James (Bonnie) Letcher, Newcastle, CA: Delphine (Delmer) Wegner, Erie, CO: Bruce Letcher, Commerce City, CO: Sharon (Ed) Kleingartner, Bozeman, MT: Robert (Claudia) Letcher, Broomfield, CO: Douglas (Judy) Letcher, Kingman, AZ: 28 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 1 great-great grandchild
Funeral Service - 11:00 A.M. Monday November18, 2013 in the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown, ND, with Rev. Johnny Rhoad, officiating.
Burial - Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND
Visitation/Family Gathering - 6:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M. Sunday @ the funeral home
