Emil Kirschenmann, 94, Jamestown, ND died Thursday October 11, 2012 at the Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Emil Kirschenmann was born June 1, 1918, Southwest of Streeter, ND; the son of Ludvig Kirschenmann and Katherine (Hieb) Kirschenmann. He received his elementary education in the rural school and grew up on the family farm.
He and Frieda Wittmeier were married August 16, 1940 at Napoleon, ND. They made their home 11 miles southeast of Streeter, ND where they farmed until his retirement in 1979, when they moved to Jamestown, ND. After his retirement, he continued to help his son on the family farm. Emil Enjoyed fishing and Friday pinnacle games. He especially loved his visits with family and friends.
He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown. He was a school board director for the German Township County Schools, and a trustee for the U.C.C. in Streeter.
He is survived by his wife, Frieda, Jamestown, ND; 2 sons, Eugene (Claudette) Kirschenmann, Libby, MT; Steve (Paulette) Kirschenmann, Napoleon, ND; 2 daughters, Evangeline Duenow, Savage, MN; Linda (Steve) Alley, Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren, Tammy Duenow; Jeffry Kirschenmann; Scott Kirschenmann; Lisa Koehmstedt; Dustin Kirschenmann; Kylee Kirschenmann; Kristina Kirschenmann, and 11 great grandchildren, Brandon Solberg; Deegan Kirschenmann; Baynx Kirschenmann; Christopher Kirschenmann; Nicolette Koehmstedt; Sarah Kirschenmann; Adam Kirschenmann; Hunter Koehmstedt; Hayden Koehmstedt; Samuel Kirschenmann and Joe Kirschenmann.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 granddaughter, Tabitha; daughter-in-law, Judy Kirschenmann; 1 son-in-law, Larry, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday October 17, 2012 at the United Church of Christ in Jamestown, ND with Deacon Tom Geffre, officiating.
The interment will be at the Zion Reform Cemetery, West of Streeter, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Tuesday October 23, 2012 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
Visitation: 9 - 8 Tuesday at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
