Elsie Suko, 84, Jamestown, ND died early Monday morning March 28, 2005 at the Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.
Elsie Gomke was born June 17, 1920 at Havre, MT, the daughter of John Gomke and Mary (Stickel) Gomke. At an early age she came to North Dakota with her parents and settled near Gackle. She received her elementary education the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.
She and Tavalt Suko were married March 13, 1938 at Alfred, ND. They made their home in Alfred until 1942 when they moved to a farm near Windsor, ND in Moonlake Township, where they farmed until 1991. Following the death of her husband, October 23, 1995, she continued to reside on the farm. She entered the Sheyenne Care Center at Valley City, ND and recently the Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown.
She was a member of the Jamestown Eagles and Eagles Auxiliary.
She enjoyed Farm life, attending the Eagles, and playing bingo. She also was an excellent cook.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Arnnie Suko, Calvin (Kay) Suko, Larry (Sonja) Suko, all of Jamestown, ND; 1 daughter, Carol Janice (Tom) Carli, Brooklyn Park, MN; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 1 brother, Edward (Amanda) Gomke, Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers, John, Jack and William.
The funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday March 31, 2005 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Chaplain Dave Fisher, officiating
The interment will be made at the Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown, ND.
