Elsie Schulz, 86, Streeter, ND died Sunday April 19, 2009 at the Sheyenne Care Center at Valley City, ND.
Elsie Kubler was born May 30, 1922 at Streeter, ND, the daughter of John Kubler and Eva (Geinger) Kubler. She attended the Streeter Public School and graduated from Streeter High School in 1941. She graduated after 2 years of college at Ellendale Normal and Industrial School with a Secondary Grade Professional Teaching Certificate and taught at rural schools for about 7 years.
She and Ed Schulz were married September 3, 1944 at Streeter, ND. They made their home 5 miles West of Streeter. In 1969 they moved into Streeter, and in 1975 she went to work as a clerk at the Fairway Store. Following the death of her husband in November 20, 1980 she continued to work at the Fairway Store until 1995 and continued to reside in Streeter. In 2005 she entered the Gackle Care Center and in 2007 she entered the Sheyenne Care Center at Valley City, ND.
She was a member of the St. Lukes Lutheran Church, the E.L.C.A. Womens Organization, American Legion Auxiliary, and The Streeter Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by 2 children, Glenn (Leah) Schulz, Wimbledon, ND; Elaine (Steve) Narlock, West Fargo, ND; 4 grandchildren, Josh (Andrea) Schulz, Lausanne, Switzerland; Heidi (Jon) Reimers, Jamestown, ND; Ryan (Katie) Narlock, Fargo, ND; Stephanie (Cory) Hiebert, Moorhead, MN; 3 step-grandchildren, Landon McDowell, Grand Forks, ND; Mylee McDowell, Wimbledon, ND; Jenna McDowell, Edgeley, ND;10 great grandchildren, Charlotte Reimers, Kayla Reimers, Hannah Schulz, Kaleb Schulz, Jaden Narlock, Toby Kindom, Tiffany Kindom, Tia Kindom, Kiara Hiebert and Kylie Hiebert; 1 brother, Edwin Kubler, Verona, WI; 3 sisters, Albina Dewald, Lawndale, CA; Elizabeth Dockter, Gackle, ND; Esther (Arnold) Hoffer, Williston, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter-in-law, Charlotte, 1 brother, 7 sisters, 1 brother and 1 sister in infancy.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Streeter, ND, with Pastor Chris Hogstad, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Lutheran Cemetery at Streeter, ND.
