Elsie Rott, 91, Jamestown, ND died Saturday February 11, 2012 at the Ave Marie Village in Jamestown, ND.
Elsie Janke was born September 8, 1920 near Tappen, ND, the daughter of John and Maria (Joachim) Janke. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
Elsie and Edwin Rott were married November 30, 1941 at Tappen, ND. They made their home SE of Tappen on several farmsteads, until 1949, when they moved to a farm at Crystal Springs. In 2006 they moved to the Golden Manor at Steele, ND and in 2008 moved into the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND. Following the death of her husband November 3, 2009, she continued to reside in Jamestown
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tappen, ND.
She is survived by 2 sons, Daniel (Jerrlyn) Rott, Everett, WA; Larry (Gloria) Rott, Crystal Springs, ND; 2 grandchildren, Lanny (Carie) Rott, Becky (Greg) Johnson; 3 great grandchildren, Jenna, Derek and Sara; and 2 sister-in-laws, Jackie Janke, MN; and Emma Hill, Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 6 brothers, and 5 sisters.
