Elmer Schweigert

Elmer Schweigert, 80, Kensal, ND died early Wednesday morning August 13, 2014 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.

Elmer Schweigert was born July 13, 1934 at Gackle, ND, the son of Emil Schweigert and Lea (Lang) Schweigert. He received his elementary education at the local school and grew to manhood in the vicinity and helped on the family farm.

He and Martha Jean Holmstrom were married February 13, 1954 at Moorhead, MN and farmed East of Gackle until 1965. He worked for area farmers until 1971 when they moved to Kensal where he owned the Village Bar. He later drove truck for Western Trucking until his retirement in 2003.

He looked forward every year to deer hunting with family and making deer sausage. He also enjoyed spending days laying cards with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jean, Kensal, ND; 1 son, Michael (Andrea) Schweigert, Sykeston, ND; 3 daughters, Susan (Mark) Kilichowski, Minto, ND; Sara Steckler, Bismarck, ND; Pamela (Douglas) Pfaff, Conroe, TX; 8 grandchildren; 1 brother, Calvin Schweigert, Callaway, MN and 1 sister, Ruby Reimers, Jamestown, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Randall Schweigert; 1 daughter, Lynn Schweigert; 1 brother, Kermit Schweigert and 1 sister, Colette Brown.

Memorial Service - 10:30 AM Saturday August 16, 2014 at Haut Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating

Interment - Kensal Cemetery in Kensal, ND following the service.
