Elmer Schlenker, 86, Stanberry, MO, died Saturday April 7, 2007 at Pine view Manor Nursing Home in Stanberry, MO.

Elmer Schlenker was born November 7, 1920, at the family home in Jud, ND, the son of Christ Schlenker and Pauline (Gohner) Schlenker. He received his elementary education at the local school at Jud and helped on the family farm.

He and Fennie Florence Nienhuis were married June 3, 1945 at the Church of God 7th Day church in Alfred, ND. They lived in North Dakota, Montana, Canada and Missouri. While residing in Jamestown, ND, he was employed by the North Dakota State Hospital. In 1963, he and his family moved to Stanberry, MO, and was employed as a printer for the Church of God 7th Day publishing house. He was also employed by Alldredge Feed & Seed and later by the Stanberry Public School system. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing and bird hunting.

He was a member of the Church of God 7th Day.

He is survived by his wife, Fennie Schlenker, Stanberry, MO, 1 son Duane (Martha) Schlenker, Colorado Springs, CO; 3 daughters, Doris (Harley) Diede, Saginaw, TX; Donna (Steve) Boone, Stanberry, MO; Susie (Tim) Randall, Ypsilanti, ND; 7 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, 1 brother, Enoch (Mary) Schlenker, Alfred, ND.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters

The funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday April 12, 2007 in the Church of God 7th Day church in Stanberry, MO with a SECOND Funeral at 1:30 PM Sunday April 15, 2007 in the Church of God 7th Day in Alfred, ND with Harris Kinzler, officiating.

The Interment will be at the Church of God 7th Day Cemetery NW of Jud, ND
