Elizabeth "Lizzy" Dockter, 99, Streeter, ND died Wednesday night November 7, 2012 at the Missouri Slope Lutheran care Center in Bismarck, ND.
Elizabeth Kubler was born March 18, 1913 on the family farm near Streeter, ND, the daughter of John Kubler and Eva (Geinger) Kubler. She was 1 of 13 children. Elizabeth was baptized by Pastor Nagel on March 21, 1914. She attended school at the Germania Township District through the 8th grade and helped on the family farm.
Lizzy and Jacob J. Dockter were married November 12, 1936 by Johannes Grill at his parent's farm SE of Streeter, ND. They received 4 horses and a plow from his parents, and 6 cow, 1 pig and some chickens from her family as wedding gifts. They made their home on a farm 5 miles SE of Streeter. This was where they raised 5 children and worked until 1971 when they retired from farming and moved into the Kubler house in Streeter. During their retirement they enjoyed traveling to visit family in Alaska, Hawaii, Texas, Colorado, California, Virginia, Wyoming and many other interesting places. After the death of her husband in 2004 she continued residing in Streeter until moving to the Gackle Care Center in 2008.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran church in Streeter, the German Ladies Aid Society, WELCA, and a member of the Streeter Senior Citizens.
She is survived by 2 sons, Leroy (Karen) Dockter, Laramie, WY; Kenneth (Rosalyn) Dockter, Gackle, ND; 3 daughters, Irene (Russell) Powers, Burke, VA; Arlene (Frank) Levy, Littleton, CO; Esther Fandrich, Bismarck, ND; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter, and 1 sister, Esther (Arnold) Hoffer, Williston, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers; 9 sisters; 1 great granddaughter in infancy and 1 son-in-law, Dustin Fandrich.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday November 13, 2012 at the St. Luke Lutheran church in Streeter with Rev. Zach Bey, officiating.
The interment will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Streeter, ND.
Visitation: 9-7 Monday November 12, at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Gackle, ND.
