Eleanora Gumke

Eleanora Gumke, 98, Bismarck, ND, formerly Jud, ND, died December 6, 2020 at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home in Bismarck.

Eleanora Brady was born February 12, 1922 on the family farm near Jud, ND in LaMoure County, the daughter of Thomas Brady and Louise (Bauer) Brady.  She grew to womanhood on the family farm while attending the local school and graduating from high school.

She and Christ D. Gumke were married July 2, 1940 at Edgeley, ND.  They began farming six miles NW of Jud, where they continued to reside except for 1957-60 when they lived in Jud but continued to farm.  Following the death of her husband on Dec. 1, 1968 she moved to Edgeley where she worked at Manor St. Joseph for 43 years.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church at Nortonville, ND

Eleanora is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda (Robert) Weixel, Bismarck, ND, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Ronnie, one daughter Arliss, 6 brothers and 1 sister

Funeral Service will be at 1;00 PM  Thursday December 10, 2020 at Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown with Father Jake Miller, officiating.

Visitation 1-5 Wednesday and 9-12 Thursday at the Funeral Home.

Interment-  at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Edgeley, ND
