Eldo Jenner, 96, Kulm, ND died Sunday morning November 1, 2009 at the Wishek Community Hospital at Wishek, ND.

Eldo Jenner was born January 18, 1913 at Kulm, ND, the son of Henry Jenner and Theresa (Schulz) Jenner. In October of 1913 the family moved to Gackle, ND. He received his elementary education at the Gackle School and graduated from Gackle High School in 1931. He worked in Fruit Orchards in Washington and California, and in 1938 he operated the Pool Hall and Bowling Alley in Kulm, ND.

He entered the US Navy April 15, 1942 at San Francisco, CA. He served in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Eldo was discharged from the Navy September 19, 1945 at Camp Parks, Shoemaker, CA, with the rank of Yeoman 3rd Class.

He and Mabel Ogren were married July 7, 1942 in Seattle, WA. They moved to Lodi, CA. He was then still at Dutch Harbor, AK. In 1945 he operated the 45 Club Bar in Lodi, CA. In 1947 they purchased a Hotel/Café in Oakley. They rented pasture land and raised cattle and in 1973 moved to Brentwood, CA for their retirement. In October of 2002 they moved Kulm. After the death of his wife in 2007, he continued to reside in Kulm.

He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Kulm, ND. He was also a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion. He was an avid coin collector and accomplished trap shooter. He enjoyed hunting ducks and pheasants, canning fruit and horse racing.

He is survived by 1 brother, Duane Jenner, Cimarron, NM and 4 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 62 years; brother, Elmo and sister, Viona.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday November 5, 2009 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Alan Eppen officiating.

The interment will be in the Swede Cemetery, north of Kulm, ND.

The funeral arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Visitation: Thursday 10 - 2 at Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
