Edwin Rott, 93, Jamestown, ND died Tuesday evening November 3, 2009 at the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.
Edwin Rott was born December 16, 1915, on the Family farm in Streeter, ND, the son of John Rott and Katherine (Kirschenmann) Rott. He received his elementary education at the local rural school and helped on the family farm where he grew to manhood in the vicinity. He served in the C.C.C. from 1932 until 1933.
He and Elsie Janke were married November 30, 1941 at Tappen, ND. They made their home SE of Tappen on several farmsteads, until 1949, when they moved to a farm at Crystal Springs. In 2006 he moved to the Golden Manor at Steele, ND and in 2008 moved into the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.
He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tappen, ND. He also had been on the Crystal Springs Township Board.
He is survived by his wife Elsie, Jamestown, ND; 2 sons, Daniel (Jerrlyn) Rott, Everett, WA; Larry (Gloria) Rott, Crystal Springs, ND; 2 grandchildren, Lanny (Carie) Rott, Becky (Greg) Johnson; 3 great grandchildren, Jenna, Derek and Sara; 2 sisters, Emma Hill, Jamestown, ND and Amelia Schauer, Stockton, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, 4 step sisters, 2 step brothers, 2 half brothers, and 1 half sister.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday November 7, 2009 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, with Pastor David Schmidt, officiating.
The interment will be at Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown, ND.
