Edwin M. Iszler, 88, Gackle, ND formerly of the Streeter, ND community died Thursday morning November 1, 2007 in the Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown, ND.

Edwin Iszler was born June 17, 1919 on the farm northwest of Streeter, ND, the son of Michael Iszler and Katherina (Enzminger) Iszler. He received his elementary education in the local rural school and graduated from Streeter High School in 1939. He also graduated in 1941 from the State Normal and Industrial School in Ellendale, ND with a degree in Education. He went on to attend Teacher's College in Valley City and South Dakota State University at Vermillion, SD.

He and Mildred Roth were married September 7, 1939 at Bowdle, SD. They made their home on a farm near Streeter and Edwin taught School for 34 years in Milnor, Verona, Robinson, Streeter, Denhoff and Ft. Ransom. He was also a World Book Representative since 1950. Following the death of his wife in 2006 he continued to reside in the Gackle Care Center.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Streeter, ND. He also taught Sunday School.

He is survived by his daughter and 3 sons, Valentena Erbele, Streeter, ND, Bruce Iszler, Hunter, ND, Elliot (Alice) Iszler, Big Sky, MT, and Michael D. (Robin) Iszler, Streeter, ND, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 son-in-law, Duane Erbele in 2001.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Monday November 5, 2007 in the United Methodist Church in Streeter, ND with Rev. Darwin Kopfmann, pastor officiating.

The interment will be at Streeter City Cemetery, Streeter, ND.

Visitation - Noon - 9:00 PM Sunday @ the funeral home
