Edward Mueller

Edward Mueller, 94, Gackle, ND was called to his heavenly home Sunday evening May 21, 2006 in the Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND.

Edward was born August 26, 1911 in Logan County, near Gackle, ND, the son of John Mueller and Theresia (Baltzer) Mueller. He received his elementary education in the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity.

He and Lillian Remboldt were married March 19, 1939 at the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle. In the early years of their marriage, Edward owned and operated a trucking firm. In 1942 they went into the grocery business full time with her family and later they were the sole owners of Mueller Fairway Grocery. In 1974 they retired and have continued to reside in Gackle. He entered the Wishek Home for the Aged in February of 2006.

He was a faithful member of the Grace Baptist Church and spent many hours working at the church when he was a Trustee. He was also very active in business affairs having served as an Alderman and Mayor of Gackle.

Edward was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was happiest when they were around. After his retirement, he spent many hours working on wood projects in his shop and made many pieces of furniture for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Lillian, Gackle, ND, 1 daughter and son-in-law, Valerie (Al) Scheet, Gackle, ND, 2 grandchildren, Robin Iszler and Paul Remmick, 4 great grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessinda, Joshua and Katie, 4 step grandchildren, Mitch Scheet, Mike Scheet, Greg Scheet, Jim Scheet, 7 step great grandchildren, 1 brother, Walter (Hulda) Mueller, Wishek, ND and 1 sister, Lorraine Gill, Columbus, OH

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son-in-law, Helmuth, 3 brothers and 8 sisters.

The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday May 25, 2006 in the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Timothy Blackman, pastor officiating.
The interment will be made in the Gackle City Cemetery, Gackle, ND.

Visitation: 9-9 Tuesday and Wednesday at the Funeral Home in Gackle, ND.
