Edna Thurn, 79, Jamestown, ND died Monday afternoon November 30, 2005 at the Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown, ND.

Edna Just was born March 26, 1926, the daughter of Edward Just and Katherina (Thurn) Just. She received her elementary education in the local rural school in Zeeland, graduated from Zeeland High School in 1944, and grew to womanhood in the vicinity. She taught Country school until 1948.

She and Emil Thurn were married June 27, 1948 in Wishek, ND. They made their home on his parent's farm, which they purchased near Wishek and farmed until 1963. They sold the farm and bought the DelCaro Motel in Jamestown, ND. They operated the motel until they sold it in 1976. Edna then started employment as a sales clerk at Plaza White Drug through her retirement in 1991. Emil passed away November 2, 1990.

She was a charter member of the Atonement Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND. Edna enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, church quilting and life in general.

Surviving is one son, Larry Thurn, Jamestown, ND, one daughter Brenda (David) Sollars, Andover, MN; 2 grandchildren, Andrew and Brian Sollars, Andover, MN; 1 brother, Raymond (Marilyn) Just, Lodi, CA; 3 sisters, Alena Koepplin, Frieda (Calvin) Miller, Anna (Emil) Koepplin all Lodi CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Monday December 5, 2005 in Atonement Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Steve Berntson, officiating.
Interment will be made (3:00 PM Monday) at St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery, Wishek, ND.
Visitation 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Sunday evening at the Funeral Home.
