Delores Henke, 92, Bismarck, ND died early Friday morning February 11, 2011 at Missouri Slope Nursing Home in Bismarck, ND.

Delores Dehne was born October 6, 1918 at Robinson, ND, the daughter of Emil Dehne and Alberdena (Hirchert) Dehne. She received her elementary education at the Robinson Public School and graduated in 1937 from RHS.

She entered the US Army September 13, 1944 and served as a Military Clerk during WWII in CA. She was honorably discharged June 28, 1946 at Camp Beale in CA with the rank of CPL.

After her enlistment in the Army, she taught school at Kidder and Wells County and later at Alfred.

She and Elmer Henke were married July 30, 1949 at Robinson, ND. They made their home in Alfred where she worked as Postmaster from 1962 until 1982. Following the death of her husband in 1966 she continued to live in Alfred. In 1982 she became Postmaster in Robinson until 1985. She moved to Bismarck in 1997 and has continued to reside there. She entered the Missouri Slope Nursing Home in 2010.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND. She was a member of the American Legion #295. She also was a member of the Farmer' Union.

She is survived by 3 sons, Lorren (Roxanne) Henke, Wishek, ND; Larry (Marguerite) Henke, Zimmerman, MN; Lynn (Pam) Henke, Bismarck, ND; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Lydena, 1 brother and 3 sisters.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday February 15, 2011 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Linda Schauer, officiating.

The interment will be at ND Veteran's Cemetery at Mandan, ND in the spring.

Visitation: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday @ the funeral home in Gackle

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Monday @ the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle
