Clyde Remboldt, 73, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday morning August 4, 2010 at the Ave Marie Village in Jamestown, ND.

Clyde was born April 15, 1937 at the family farm home North of Gackle, ND, the son of Edward C. Remboldt and Ida (Hehn) Remboldt. He attended Gackle Public School and graduated from Gackle High School in 1955.

He entered the United States Navy May 30, 1955 at the Great Lakes Training Center, Chicago. He served on an oil tanker, than transferred to an ice breaker USS Atka G-B-3. He traveled through the Panama Canal to the Arctic North Pole once and to the Arctic South Pole twice. He was discharged May 30, 1959 at Boston, MA with the rank of S H 3rd Class. He returned home to Gackle where he went to work for the Gackle Packing Co.

He and Alice Maier were married August 12, 1962 in Streeter, ND. They made their home in Gackle where he continued working at the packing company. In 1967 they moved to the family farm north of Gackle until 1991 when they retired from farming and moved to Jamestown. Following the death of his wife, May 19, 2009 he continued to reside in Jamestown, ND.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the American Legion Mayor-Morlock Post 250 in Gackle.

He is survived by 2 sons, Shawn (Cody) Remboldt, Lincoln, ND; Shay Remboldt, Hugo, MN; 2 special nieces, Debbie (Mike) Zimmerman, Streeter, ND; Kim (Jon) Hummel, Firestone, CO; 1 granddaughter, Faye Ann Remboldt, 2 sisters, 2 sisters, Arlene (Lloyd) Veil, Streeter, ND, Twilla (Dwight) Wiest, Gackle, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and 2 brothers Kevin and Clayton.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday August 7, 2010 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle, ND, with Rev. Bernie Jasken, officiating,

The interment will be made in the Gackle Cemetery, Gackle, ND.

Visitation - 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. Friday @ the funeral home in Jamestown

Prayer Service - 7:00 P.M. Friday @ the funeral home in Jamestown
