Carol Schmierer, 67, Jamestown, ND died Friday October 24, 2008 in the Ava Maria Village in Jamestown, ND, after a long battle with breast cancer.
Carol Louise Lauper was born December 15, 1940 at Madison, Wisconsin the daughter of John F. Lauper and Louise Olive (Tenjum) Lauper. She received her elementary education in the local school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Dennis Schmierer were married July 17, 1960 at Madison, WI. They home in Madison where he was stationed in the US Air Force until 1961 when they moved to North Dakota and lived on a farm NE of Gackle where they farmed until moving into Jamestown. She entered the Ava Maria Village September 1, 2008.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamestown. Carol was an excellent seamstress and spent many years doing professional alterations for her friends and surrounding communities.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis, Jamestown, ND, 1 daughter, Shauna Schmierer, Jamestown, ND, John (Thelma) Schmierer, Jud, ND, 5 grandchildren, Brendan Lee Marshall, Dusty Lane Schmierer, Nikkolas Grant Schmierer, all of Jamestown, ND, Moises Hector Schmierer, and Alexa Marie Schmierer, Jud, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 daughter, Linda in 1979.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Thursday October 30, 2008 in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Darren Purdy, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery, NE of Gackle, ND.
