Burnett 'Joe' Lang

Burnett (Joe) Lang, 81, Alfred, North Dakota died Saturday evening February 12, 2011 in Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

Burnett Lang was born September 14, 1929 at Alfred, ND the son of Gustav S. (Gust) Lang and Lydia (Reuer) Lang. He received his elementary education in the Alfred School District. He graduated from the Gackle High School in 1948.

He and Doroth Forsty were married December 6, 1949 at Aberdeen , SD. Joe trucked cattle and grain with his Dad. Upon Joe's marriage to Dorothy, Gust gave Joe and Dorothy the trucking business. Joe managed the ND Oil Company for 19 years in Alfred. Joe also drove semi for Wiest Trucking, Tom Wegner and Albin Schlenker. He also helped with the farm work for Wegner and Schlenker.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Dorothy, Alfred, ND, one daughter and one son, Nona (Tom) Kirby, West Hills, CA; Mick (Bonnie) Lang, Rapid City, SD; 3 grandchildren, Jessica, Brian and Carly; one sister, Ella Strusis, Bullhead City, AZ.

There will be a Graveside Service held in the Alfred City Cemetery in the spring.
