Betty Kratzke, 85, Jamestown, ND died Monday January 10, 2011 at the Ave Maria Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND.

Betty Berg was born August 25, 1925 at Valley City, ND, the daughter of Ole Berg and Cecelia (Hass) Berg. She received her education at the local school and graduated from Eckleson High School in 1943.

She and Erwin Kratzke were married March 30, 1953 in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Jamestown, ND at the same house for 50 years as of March of 2010. She attended the Telegraph school and worked for Northern Pacific for 25 years. She worked for the US Census in 1980, and was also working for the Dietrich School Bus until her retirement in 2006. After the death of her husband in 1991 she continued to reside in Jamestown. She entered the Ave Maria Nursing Home in December of 2010.

She was a member of the Tabernacle, VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to bowl. She loved Baseball and jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Karla Richards, Minneapolis, MN; 1 step-son, Jerry Kratzke, Colton, CA; 3 grandchildren, David, Mark, Mike, 1 brother, Ronald (Evelyn) Berg, Jamestown, ND and 3 sisters, Beverly (Clifford) Hanson, Barbara Hanson, Judy (Darrell) Perry, all of Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 3 brothers, Don, John and James.

At her request a private family funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday January 15, 2011 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.

The interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, ND in the spring.
