Bertha Remmick, 89, Wishek, ND, formerly of Napoleon, ND died Friday afternoon January 14, 2011 at the Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND.

Bertha Martin was born February 11, 1921 at Pettibone, ND, the daughter of Jacob Martin and Carolina (Albrecht) Martin. She received her education at the rural school at Pettibone, and helped on the family farm.

She and Albert Remmick were married October 26, 1944 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Pettibone. They made their home in Kansas, while her husband was in the military. They then moved to a farm close to Robinson, ND where they farmed. Following the death of her husband in 1955 she and the children moved into Pettibone. In 1962 they moved to Napoleon, ND, where she was employed at Wentz Café and Wurls Café. In 1997 she moved to Jamestown, ND. In May of 2000 she entered the Wishek Home for the Aged in Wishek, ND.

She was a member of St. Mathews Lutheran Church in Napoleon. She enjoyed Music, dancing, visiting and her flowers.

She is survived by 2 sons, Duane Remmick, Jamestown, ND; Raymond (Barbara) Remmick, Jamestown, ND; 3 daughters, Dianna (Harry) Johnson, Jamestown, ND; Marlene (Kenny) Golly, Minot, ND; Charlotte (Stacey Whipple)Kapp, Jamestown, ND; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 1 sister Kathryn (Rudolph) Walz, Grand Forks, ND, 1 sister-in-law, Amelia Gruebele, Valley City, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 8 brothers, Johnny, Andrew, Phillip, Paul, Ludwig, Jacob Jr., Friederick, Gottlieb, 4 sisters, Fredericka, Dorothy, Mary, Lydia and 1 great great grandchild.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday January 19, 2011 at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Jamestown, with Rev. Tom Eckstein, pastor
officiating.

The interment will be at the Petersville Cemetery at Pettibone, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home
Visitation: 9-8 Tuesday at the Funeral Home
