Bernice Forester

Bernice Forester, 71, Jamestown, ND died Friday evening September 23, 2005 at her home in Jamestown, ND.

Bernice Dorothy Haagenson was born August 12, 1934 at Fingal, ND, the daughter of Henry and Ethel (Maasjo) Haagenson. She attended the local school in Fingal where she graduated in 1952. In her 12 years of school, Bernice never missed 1 day.

She and Gordon Forester were married August 14, 1953 at Fingal, ND. In 1954 they made their home in Jamestown, where she worked at the Jamestown Hospital until 1956 when she went to work at the North Dakota State Hospital as a Nursing Service Administrative Assistant. She worked there until her retirement in 1998. She and Gordon have continued to reside in Jamestown.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Sons of Norway, and the American Legion Auxiliary, and was very active in church and community affairs, while especially enjoying her volunteer work. She also enjoyed being around her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon, Jamestown, ND, 5 children, Myrna Lukson, Richland, WA, Kenton (Butch) and Sue Forester, Jamestown, ND, Karole and Ron Hrncir, Smithville, TX, Gayle Forester, West Richland, WA, Michael and Chelci Forester, Alexandria, MN, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and 1 sister, Amy Vogel, Janesville, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 infant son, 2 brothers, Sanford and Howard.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday September 28, 2005 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND, with Rev. Bob Lynne, officiating.

The interment will be made at 2:00 P.M. in the Kensal Cemetery at Kensal, ND.

Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Homes in Jamestown, ND.
