Aurora Sandberg, 100, Jamestown, ND formerly of Noonan, ND, passed away on Friday afternoon July 2, 2010 at the Ave Maria Villlage in Jamestown, ND.

Aurora was born to Edward and Emma(Schauer) Dahlke on November 26, 1909 on the family homestead north of Kermit, ND. She attended country school in Mentor Township, and was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Larson, ND.

In July of 1937, she was united in marriage to Edgar Sandberg of Larson, ND. They lived in Noonan until 1992, when they moved to the Heritage Center in Jamestown, ND. Mr. Sandberg passed away in 1996. Aurora entered Ave Maria Village in 1998.

She is survived by two children, Connie (Wally) Hickman, Fargo, ND, and Dennis (Pamela) Sandberg of Bertha, MN. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Lisa (Doug) Hicks, Jamestown, ND, Linda (Scott) Timperley, Le Mars, Iowa, Angela (Scott) Hegdahl, Brookings, SD, Troy Sandberg, Beulah, ND, Todd Sandberg, Fargo, ND, and Eric Sandberg, San Luis Obispo, CA, six great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson expected in October.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and three brothers.

Aurora was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren have wonderful memories of skating, hiking, and fishing with grandma. She loved the outdoors and rode a motorcycle on country roads around Noonan when she was in her seventies. She was the talk of the nursing home as she rode her motorized scooter around the grounds.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Monday July 5, 2010 in the Ave Maria Village Chapel with Deacon Tom Geffre, officiating.
Burial will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday in the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery at Noonan, ND.

Visitation - 1 hour before services on Monday at Ave Maria Village and at the Crosby Funeral Home from 10-11 on Tuesday in Crosby, ND, with the family present.
