Toni (Antonette) Kulish-Toltzman

Toni (Antonette) Jean Kulish-Toltzman of Jamestown, ND passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the age of 66, at the Jamestown Medical Center, after a brief battle with cancer.

Toni was born to Frank & Mabel (Gawryliv) Kulish on November 16, 1955, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson, ND. After attending Country School from grades 1 through 3, she then went to Killdeer Public School #16 and graduated from KHS in 1974. She attended RD Hairstyling College in Bismarck, ND and was employed as a hairdresser in Mandan, ND. In 1977 while living in Bismarck, she met and married Marvin Fisher. Together they had two children Jessica Lynn in 1977 and Shannon Lee in 1979.The family moved to Jamestown, ND and Toni began working at Dee’s Beauty Spot. Toni married Bruce Toltzman on July 2, 2005, and together they continued to make their home in Jamestown. She continued to be employed at various businesses in Jamestown up until her passing, including 26 years at K-Mart, 30 years at Riddle’s Jewelry, 5 plus years at Christopher & Banks, and 6 1/2 years at Menards.

Toni grew up on her parent’s farm & ranch in southwest ND near Manning. As the oldest of 4 girls, she learned how to cook, babysit, and take care of the everyday chores. She milked cows, cooked meals, cleaned house and cared for numerous farm animals. Her early upbringing taught her valuable lessons about taking care of other people. A trait that followed her through her entire life, as she was always caring for everyone around her. In later life, her greatest joy was seeing her grandchildren grow and passing along advice and her valuable life lessons to them. She looked forward to every visit with them, to attend all of their important school and church achievements. Everything about Toni was large & outgoing - her personality, her smile, her voice, and also her hair & nails! When she walked into a room, it was immediately lit up. Her years of working in a hair dressing salon taught her the gift of gab, and she enjoyed visiting with people from all walks of life and they were also always attracted to her. A trip through the commercial buildings at the ND State Fair one year took us the better part of the entire day. She enjoyed people! Toni loved to organize parties - especially surprise birthday parties. None of her K-Mart Girls Club, Birthday Club, or family members escaped a significant birthday without a “surprise” from Toni. She enjoyed hosting dinners and gatherings for all occasions, and looked forward to New Year’s Eve parties with her friends and family. Another love of Toni’s was gardening. She was at peace when connected to dirt. Her garden & flowers were always manicured perfectly, and even received recognition as “Yard of the Week” in Jamestown. Stunning flowers along the front of the house and along the driveway always welcomed you to the Toltzman home. She also enjoyed motorcycle runs with Bruce, and was a Lady Noble with the El Zagel Shriners.

Her loving family includes: husband of 16 years Bruce, Jamestown; daughter, Jessica (Ryan) Carroll, Clarksville, TN; son, Shannon, Minneapolis, MN; step daughter, Destiny (Ryan) Smith, Jamestown; grandchildren, Jacob Carroll, Grayson Carroll, and Jax Smith; her mother Mabel Kulish, Manning, ND; sisters, Rochelle (Rich) Feldner, Burlington, ND; DeeAnn Kulish, Manning, ND; Francine (Cory) Roshau, Shawnee, KS; nephews, Casey (Deamie) Feldner, Cory Roshau Jr., Ty Roshau; aunt Cleo Kulish, Dickinson, ND, uncle & aunt Mike & Nancy Gawryliv, Mandan, ND; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by: father, Frank Kulish.
