Anton "Tony" Koushkouski, 88, Jamestown, ND died August 24, 2007 at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Tony was born April 29, 1919 at Goldwin, ND, the son of Peter and Anna (Liegman) Koushkouski. He grew up in Goldwin and attended school in Paris Township near Goldwin and Courtney, ND. He moved to Ashland Township where the present family farm is. He worked at different farms. He enlisted in the Army at Fort Snelling, MN in 1942, in the 4th Armored Division. He was in the battle in Normandy GO 33 WD '45, Rhineland GO 40 WD '45, Northern France GO 46 WD '45, and Central Europe GO 48 WD '45. He was a prisoner of war during World War II, in Germany from Sept. 28, 1944, until April 28, 1945. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal of the Infantry from the Army Nov. 14, 1945 at Fort Logan, CO. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge GO 54 4th Armed Div. 45 and American Service Medal.

He married Lorraine Bolme on September 11, 1947. He went to Molar Barber College in Fargo, ND. He started barbering in 1948. He barbered in Jamestown at Tony's Barber Shop until 2005.

He was a member of the St. James Basilica in Jamestown, VFW, Eagles, American Legion and the North Dakota Barbers Association.

He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Linda (Mike) Kraemer, Brooklyn Park, MN; Marilyn (Bob) Skattum, Louisville, TN; 1 son, Tom (Marcia) Koushkouski, Jamestown, ND; 3 sisters, Ann Stocking; Maggie Barkowski, both Jamestown, ND; Dorothy Rance, Sioux Falls, SD; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Leo, Lewis, Paul, Frank, Peter and 4 sisters, Louise, Agnes, Laura and Margaret.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday August 29, 2007 at the Basilica of St. James in Jamestown, ND, with Fr. John McGinnis, officiating.

The interment will be at Calvary cemetery in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service will be at 7:30 PM Tuesday August 28 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND.
