Anna W. Neva

Anna W. Neva, 97, Jamestown, ND formerly of Kensal, ND died Thursday July 28, 2005 at the home of her daughter Shirley Hoggarth.

Anna Wulff was born in Visborg, Denmark, on June 7, 1908, the daughter of Carl Wulff and Marie (Jorgenson) Wulff. She came to the United States in 1917. Anna and her sister Dagny were raised by their aunt Gena Pearson. Anna attended school in Beusephailiea Township and Kensal High School. She graduated from Valley City State College and taught in area schools.

She and Jack L. Neva were married April 1929 at Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Kensal. She was a clerk at the Kensal Post Office for 16 years. Following the death of her husband in 1960 she continued to reside in Kensal. In 1985 she moved to Jamestown.

She was a member of the Kensal United Methodist Church, and the last surviving charter member of the Kensal Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her 6 children, Jack (Jeri) Neva, Houston, TX, Nadine Johnson, Kittitas, WA, Bob (Paulette) Neva, Fargo, ND, Shirley (Darwin) Hoggarth, Jamestown, ND, Liz (Leon) Doyle, Wimbledon, ND, Bill Neva, Mandan, ND, 1 son-in-law, Bob Van Dyke, Jamestown, ND, 2 sisters, Marie (Bert) Kracht, Kensal, ND, and Beulah Desenberg, Norwalk, IA, 1 cousin, Harriet Drury, Pipestone, MN, 26 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 daughter, Margaret Van Dyke, 1 son-in-law, Oliver Johnson, and 4 grandchildren, Jim Johnson, Laura Hoggarth Fossum, Kay Van Dyke Dunwoodie, Lyndia Van Dyke Rowell, and 1 sister, Dagny Clise Probst.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 Friday August 5, 2005 at the United Methodist Church in Kensal, ND, with Rev. Michael Ward, officiating.

The burial will be made in the Kensal Cemetery, Kensal, ND.
The funeral arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Homes in Jamestown, ND.
