Anna Maria Ketterling, 95, Streeter, North Dakota died Monday afternoon, June 28, 2010 in the St. Alexis Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.
Anna Maessner was born December 22, 1914 on the family farm 12 miles north of Glen Ullin, ND, the daughter of John Maessner, Sr. and Katie (Lux) Maessner. She was baptized March 10, 1915 and Confirmed in the McIntosh Church. She received her elementary education at the local rural school in Ashley, ND and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.
She and Reinhold Ketterling were married December 4, 1936 at the Ashley Courthouse in Ashley, ND. They made their home on Reinhold's farm near Guyson, ND for 1 year and then moved near her parent's farm Northeast of Ashley and then later moving to Ashley. After the death of her husband, May 7, 1957, she stayed in Ashley. In 1960 she moved into Streeter, ND.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Streeter.
She is survived by her daughters, Hilma and Lorraine Ketterling, both of Streeter, ND; 1 brother, Irvin Mossner, Luling, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters, and 7 brothers.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Friday July 2, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Streeter, ND, with Pastor Darwin Kopfmann, officiating.
The burial will be at the Ashley City Cemetery East of Ashley, ND.
