Alma Wegner, 95, Jamestown, ND died late Saturday night June 11, 2011 at Eventide in Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.

Alma Krause was born May 16, 1916 on the family farm near Alfred, ND, the daughter of Jacob Krause and Elizabeth (Koenig) Krause. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

She and Christ Wegner were married June 21, 1938 at Alfred, ND. They lived on the family farm until 1941, at which time they purchased a farm 4 miles north of Alfred, where they resided until 1976. In May of 1976 they moved into Gackle, ND. In June of 2007 he moved into Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND. She later entered the Gackle Care Center in Gackle. Following the death of her husband July 12, 2009 she continued to reside in the Care Center until February of 2011 when she entered Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown, ND.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Gackle, ND. She enjoyed taking care of her yard and her huge garden and many beautiful flowers. She has made many quilts for her family and friends. She also enjoyed baking cookies and buns.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Jean Johnson, Springfield, VA; 2 sons, Thomas (Jolyne) Wegner, Alfred, ND; Timothy (Coleen) Wegner, Rosemount, MN;
4 grandchildren, Paul (Megan) Wegner, Lancaster, PA; Steven (Erin) Wegner, Johnstown, CO, Christi Jo (Troy) Nelson, Gackle, ND, Heidi (Khoa) Ha, Ankeny, IA; 8 great grandchildren, Janessa, Maranda, Devin, Lucy, Henry, Walter, Norman, Spencer; 1 sister, Arlene ‘Suzie' Zimmerman, Jamestown, ND, 1 sister-in-law, Anna Krause, Gackle, ND

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 special grandson Todd Wegner, 1 son-in-law, Hans Johnson, 3 sisters, Emma, Mathilda and Lena, 5 brothers, Jacob, Herbert, Emmanuel, Jack and Ervin.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday June 16, 2011 in the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, ND with Pastor Tim Blackman, pastor officiating.

Interment will be made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.

Visitation - 9-8 Wednesday at the Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.
