Alice Gumke, 90, Gackle, ND died Thursday evening May 26, 2005 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, ND.
Alice Koenig was born December 21, 1914 at Alfred, ND the daughter of Gottfried Koenig and Christina (Fode) Koenig. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.
She and Karl Gumke were married May 10, 1938 at LaMoure, ND. They made their home on a farm 11 miles southeast of Gackle where they farmed. In 1982 they moved into Gackle for their retirement. She entered Central
Dakota Village June of 2003.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND.
Surviving are her husband, Karl, Gackle, ND, 1 daughter Ruby Unrath, Bismarck, ND, and 1 son, Robert (Nancy) Gumke, Cleveland, OH, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 1 sister Elsie Sommerfield, Superior, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, 1 brother and 4 sisters.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday May 31, 2005 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Russ Pollock, pastor officiating.
Interment will be made in the Gackle City Cemetery at Gackle, ND
Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Homes in Gackle, ND.
