Albert Geiszler, 92, Jamestown, ND died early Thursday morning February 11, 2010 at the MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Albert Geiszler was born June 26, 1917 on the family farm south of Gackle, ND, the son of John Geiszler and Christina (Klein) Geiszler. He received his elementary education in the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm. He worked in the C.C.C.'s (Civil Conservation Corp) in 1937 in the Grand Tetons in WY. He entered the Army Air Corp on October 28, 1941 and worked as a Medical Assistant. He was stationed in the Asiatic Pacific Theaters. He was honorably discharged on December 20, 1945 with the rank of Cpl.

He and Myrtle Otto were married February 23, 1947 at Gackle, ND. He worked as a barber from 1941 until 1960, and bought and owned the Deep Rock Station in 1952. In 1967 they moved to Bandon, OR and worked for the Bandon Public School in maintenance until his retirement in 1982. In October of 2009 they moved to Jamestown, ND where they have resided.

He is a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND. He had a lifelong love of music and was a member of the Gold Coast Barber Shop Chorus for 15 years. He enjoyed playing at USO dances.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, Jamestown, ND; his 3 children, Russell (Gwen) Geiszler, Sandra (Richard) Dale, all of Jamestown, ND; Kim (Jon) Forrest, Pagosa Springs, CO; 7 grandchildren, Amy (Don) Walz; Aaron Geiszler; Justin (Stacey) Wilson; Nicole (Billy) Cotts; J.B. (April) Forrest; Caleb (Alyssa) Forrest; Caitlin Forrest; 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Rueben (Liz) Geiszler, Whidbey Island, WA and Erwin (Eileen) Geiszler, Napoleon, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

The Memorial service will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 15, 2010 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Harlan Kaden, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Gackle Cemetery at Gackle, ND in the spring.
