Abbie Drenth

Abbie Drenth, 96, Oakes, ND died Wednesday March 10, 2009 at the
Good Samaritan Society in Oakes, ND.

Abbie Turnbaugh was born December 17, 1912 at Edgeley, ND, the daughter of Charles and Flora (Orr) Turnbaugh. She attended school at Edgeley and graduated from Edgeley High School. She attended Ellendale Normal for 1 year and received her teaching certificate.

She and Richard Drenth were married June 29, 1933 at Edgeley, ND. They made their home on a farm near Jud, ND. She taught in rural schools in the Jud area for 8 years. She and Richard lived on the farm for many years. Following the death of Richard in 1995 she continued to live on the farm until moving to Gackle. She later moved to Oakes and entered the Good Samaritan Society.

She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle.

She is survived by her daughter, Audrey (Dick) Reese, Anacortes, WA, 2 grandchildren, Dawn Fahrenholz, Omaha, NE, Cary (Brian) Elliott, Roselle, IL, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 2 sister-in-laws, Ann Turnbaugh, Orlando, FL and Mildred Witkowski, Crete, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1995, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 14, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Society Chapel in Oakes, ND, with Rev. Tim Blackman, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Edgeley, ND.
